How does the Kinnelon After School Enrichment Program work?

There is an extensive amount of work and many factors that go into creating the KASE Program each semester. Finding instructors and creating the brochure in both an online and printed format are the first steps. Then comes the most difficult part of all. The actual enrollment and setting up the courses that will be running for the semester. Please remember that the KASE Program is strictly tuition based and DOES NOT receive any funding from the school budget. That is where the number of students in a course becomes an extremely important factor. In order to cover the cost of the course and any overhead involved with the program we need to establish a minimum number of students enrolled in a course. The courses have a minimum and maximum number of students listed. Most courses need a minimum of 4 students in order to run the course. Other courses will need a minimum of 5 or more depending on the course and the instructor.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS FOR A COURSE.

One of the most important parts of the program is the enrollment deadline. First, our course instructors have offered their time and experience to our students and their monetary compensation is minimal. The enrollment deadline is and important and courteous part of the process because it affords the instructors the time they need to prepare for the first day of a course. Next, the preparation of the postcard you receive listing the courses your child is enrolled in and of all of the lists and necessary paperwork for each course must be compiled. This takes time. In order for the transition to be smooth making sure teachers, secretaries and instructors have a detailed listing is of paramount importance. Once the deadline approaches, a determination must be made as to which courses will be running this semester. If the minimum number of students has not been met the course will not run. At that time you will be notified by e-mail that the course is not running and you will be offered a chance to switch to another course or withdraw.

PLEASE MAKE SURE WE HAVE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS AND CHECK YOU E-MAIL CLOSE TO THE ENROLLMENT DEADLINE.

It is easier to contact you by e-mail than to call because we can not always reach you by phone. Once all changes have been made postcards are generated and mailed informing you of the course you child will be attending and the day and time of the course. After postcards are sent, packets are made for each instructor with all the necessary information they need to run their course successfully.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR COOPERATION IN ADHERING TO THE ENROLLMENT DEADLINE. THIS MAKES IT EASIER FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED TO CREATE A SUCCESSFUL AND FUN FILLED PROGRAM.
